Even though Aliwal Shoal is a fossilized sand dune lying about 5 km offshore, the reef is abound with tropical fish and corals this summer. While the whales have all migrated, a lot of raggies have stayed behind this season and are resting in Raggies Cave. April into winter give some of our best diving months, with the wind dying off, calm seas, and good visibility with no rain. This is of course the season for the tiger sharks and black tips, so the Baited Dives have been very popular.
Meridian is back on track for all recreational and technical courses, from open water to Trimix. If you are thinking of doing a course then call us and we can provide all the information and details. Courses will be held in Gauteng every second month and monthly at the Shoal.
