The heart of any diving course is buoyancy control which is covered both in the academics and the practical training to ensure that you have the correct trim and skills to be a safe and controlled diver. The academics also provide information about rebreathers and identifying problems with rebreathers underwater. The depth limitation certifies you to 20m/66ft. Nitrox certification is included.
PURPOSE OF THE COURSE
This highly sort after and quality controlled course is designed to train you, with no diving experience, in the safe use and technology of basic air and Nitrox diving with no decompression, to a maximum depth of 20 metres/66 feet.
NOTE: Persons new to diving - this Level provides you with a worldwide recognised certification to be able to dive Open Circuit Air and Nitrox in a safe and concise way and earning you two certifications in one course!

IN WATER TRAINING
Your initial training will be in a low-stress environment (pool) for the basic skills. Your instructor will demonstrate each skill for you to practice and master. At the start of the course you will be asked to perform a 10 minute float without any aid and a 200 metre/660 feet swim, with no time limit - just to determine you have basic swimming skills.
On mastery of the various confined water skills you will then move into the open water for your four qualifying dives. Here you will test your new abilities and explore the underwater world, with your instructor guiding you.

You may register for more than one academic course at a time. After you are certified for this Level you can start the next Level practical skills directly! This highly sort after and quality controlled course is designed to train people with diving experience in the safe use and technology of basic air and Nitrox diving with no decompression, to a maximum depth of 30 metres/99 feet.
BENEFITS OF THIS PROGRAMME
This course perfects your buoyancy control and equipment configuration to a much higher degree than any other programme. To do this you will be required to go back to confirmed water (pool) where you concentrate on buoyancy control and trim, together whilst adjusting your equipment configuration, introducing you to new skills such as use of deploy buoys, torches, slates and compass.
You will be able to practice these skills in confined water as well as getting comfortable with your equipment placement. The open water section builds on your confined water training, with 6 open water dives, one of which is Search and Discovery.
This quality in-depth course will provide a certification of value beyond that which you can find elsewhere. The academics also provide information about rebreathers and identifying problems with rebreathers underwater. Nitrox certification is included. The depth limitation certifies you to 30m/99ft.

The Level 3 Open Circuit Rescue programme is an important and crucial step in expanding your knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level. This training programme is a prerequisite for all leadership training (Level 4 Divemaster and instructors).
BENEFITS OF THIS PROGRAMME
This course is demanding and realistic in its conduct, content and approach. Interaction discussion, variety and flexibility are stressed during skills training.
This unique course builds confidence and ability, providing the skills and knowledge to help you better understand how to respond safely and efficiently to surface and underwater emergencies. On certification you will be certified to 40m/132ft which includes open circuit nitrox certification.
This course also introduces you to Applied Risk Management and assessment, Gas management and dive planning. The academics also provide information about rebreathers and identifying problems with rebreathers underwater.

This course is designed to train you in the safe use and technology of open circuit diving with no decompression, up to 1.4 PpO2 and to a maximum depth of 40 metres/132 feet.

• To be a minimum of 16 years old.
• To be a certified diver for at least 3 months.
• Completed and passed Level 3 academic section Quick Quiz and Exam.
• To start the programme, have a minimum 12 logged hour's underwater using open circuit.
• Submit a RAID Level 2 Open Circuit Diver certificate and/or equivalent and/or complete, to the satisfaction of your instructor, the minimum in water skills of the RAID Level 2 Diver. Your instructor is to evaluate these skills.
• To submit Deep (limited depth 30m/66 ft), Night/Restricted Visibility, Navigation, Search and Discovery certificate and/or equivalent.

The course includes applied professional Risk Management and Risk Assessment to HSE (UK) standard. On certification you will be certified to 40m/132ft which includes open circuit nitrox certification. The academics also provide information about rebreathers and identifying problems with rebreathers underwater.

CERTIFIED OPEN CIRCUIT LEVEL 4 DIVEMASTER DUTIES
Supervise recreational and training activities by organising and directing dives.
Assist an instructor during in water training sessions for all open circuit courses.
Guide dives for certified divers to a maximum depth of 40 metres/132 feet water.
Accompany students under the direct supervision of an instructor during surface swims to/from entry/exit point, and navigation exercises.
Remain with other students when the instructor conducts a skill; for example,
ascents/descents.
Accompany students during Levels 2, 3 and Level 4 under the direct supervision of
an instructor.
Conduct Local Area Orientation dives for certified divers.
Conduct open circuit review refresher skills in confined water only.
Conduct a Try Dive Open Circuit in confined water only.
Conduct open circuit review refresher skills in confined water only.
Maintain current liability insurance and membership, subject to local laws.

This programme is designed to train qualified RAID Level 4 Dive masters or equivalent, to teach the RAID Open Circuit programmes from Level 1 through to Level 4.
After successfully completing the Instructor Development Course, you take responsibility for teaching divers to SCUBA dive whilst using open circuit air/nitrox.
During the Instructor Development Course, you will review the General Diving Standards; in water training methods; practical teaching; philosophies, and academic presentations.
The programme is designed to train you in the use of the RAID programme to teach open circuit nitrox diving with no decompression, up to 1.4 PpO2 and to a maximum depth of 40 metres/132 feet.
PREREQUISITES
• To be a minimum of 18 years old.
• Completed and passed RAID Open Circuit Levels 1, 2, 3 and Instructor academic
• sections Quick Quiz and Exams.
• To be a certified diver for at least 12 months prior to in water training.
• To be certified as a RAID Level 4 Dive master or equivalent certification from a
• recognised training agency and/or complete, to the satisfaction of your instructor
• trainer, the minimum in water open circuit Level 4 skills. Your instructor trainer is to
• evaluate these skills.
• To have a minimum of 60 logged underwater hours using open circuit and/or
• rebreather.
• To submit a RAID Level 3 Rescue certificate, and/or equivalent and/or complete, to the satisfaction of your instructor trainer, the in water skills of the Level 3 Rescue
• course.
• Submit a current Rescue Breathing/CPR Training and Oxygen Provider Instructor
• certificates. (DAN/equivalent).
Documented proof of prerequisite requirements needs to be presented to the RAID Dive Centre and Instructor Trainer for approval prior to any in water training.
Complete an Instructor Development practical programme with a RAID Instructor Trainer or Examiner.
OPEN CIRCUIT INSTRUCTOR CROSS OVER
A certified and renewed Open Circuit Instructor can cross over to become a RAID Open Circuit Instructor, after meeting the following:
To be a minimum of 18 years old.
Completed and passed RAID Open Circuit Instructor academic sections Quick Quiz and Exams and sign off the cross over in water skills.
Be a certified renewed instructor from a recognised agency.
To have certified divers between basic open water to dive leadership levels or be a certified Instructor Trainer / Course Director from a recognised training agency.
Have a minimum of 60 logged hours underwater or 120 logged dives.
To submit diver certifications for Navigation, Night/Restricted Visibility, Nitrox (of which at least 10 hours or 20 logged dives for each is required) and Deep (of which at least 10 hours or 20 logged are between 27-40 m/89-132 ft is required) or equivalent.
Submit a current Rescue Breathing/CPR Training and Oxygen Provider Instructor certificates. (DAN/equivalent).
Documented proof of prerequisite requirements needs to be presented for approval.
At the discretion of RAID HQ and/or Dive Centre and Instructor Trainer complete Instructor Development practical programme with a RAID Instructor Trainer or Examiner

A certified RAID Open Circuit Instructor is able to, within the Terms and Conditions of the RAID General Diving Standards:
Teach persons to dive whilst using Open Circuit equipment only.
Supervise and/or lead recreational and/or open circuit training activities.
Assist a lead RAID Registered Instructor during in water training sessions for all courses or subject to the Speciality programme.
Guide dives for certified divers to a maximum depth of 40 metres/132 feet
Accompany students during in water training exercises.
Maintain RAID membership.
Maintain a dive leader attitude at all times when representing RAID.

RAID DECOMPRESSION PROCEDURES (Open Circuit) to 50m / 164ft
This is a great intro course for those who want to get a basic understanding of technical diving.
INTRODUCTION
This programme qualifies you to a depth of 50m / 164 ft and complete dives with mandatory decompression stop requirements for up to maximum of 30 minutes whilst using a independent decompression gas.
This Speciality is designed to extend your knowledge and introduce the skills and decompression procedures required in the use of oxygen enriched gases for Sport Diving. It develops the sport diving skills and provides a greater understanding of the concept of decompression sport diving and the use of Helium gas to reduce narcosis (21/27).
Divers who wish to learn more but do not want to take the Level 4 Dive Master route this course is for you.
PREREQUISITES
• To be a minimum of 16 years old.
To be certified diver for at least 3 months.
Certified RAID Open Circuit Level 3 diver or equivalent certification/s (submit Navigation, Night/Restricted Visibility, Enriched Air / Nitrox and Deep certificates (of which at least 5 hours are between 27- 40 m/89-132 ft) and/or equivalent. The instructor is to evaluate these skills.
